ROBIN'S BIO

ROBIN PARKER (Producer, Director, Writer), is an award-winning filmmaker who is passionate about many things including, but not limited to, history, human rights, arts and culture, civil rights and social action.  She has written, directed and collaborated with several filmmakers on various projects throughout the Bay Area, and is a former member of Scary Cow Productions, an Indie film co-op based in San Francisco, California.

Her first film "The Martinez Special - an American Icon", a short documentary about the birthplace of the martini, and the battle to claim that right between the City of Martinez and the City of San Francisco was a happy accident.   The City of Martinez approached Robin and asked if she would be willing to take on the project.  Robin agreed and pushed forward with production having no crew, no equipment and very little filmmaking experience.  But with tenacity, determination and support from the City of Martinez, she completed the documentary and released it to the film festival circuit with great success.  The documentary has won many awards, was inducted into the U.S. National Film Archives by the U.S. Library of Congress and was an official selection at several film festivals. It is currently listed and airing on Comcast CCTV Channel 28, a local TV station in the Bay Area, California.

Robin’s most recent film as producer, director and writer is The Righteous Path, which has screened at the San Francisco Global Movie Festival (The FOGsv), among other venues.  In addition, Robin’s credits as director include Access Music Records co-production of the award-winning music video, Black Sheep, which was composed by Kim Di Giacomo, and lyrics by Chloe Jean.  Black Sheep has screened at the Tiburon International Film Festival, the Rahway International Film Festival, and the New Hope Film Festival where it won Best Music Video and the People’s Choice Award.
