ROBIN PARKER (Producer, Director, Writer), is an award-winning filmmaker who is passionate about many things including, but not limited to, history, human rights, arts and culture, civil rights and social action. She has written, directed and collaborated with several filmmakers on various projects throughout the Bay Area, and is a former member of Scary Cow Productions, an Indie film co-op based in San Francisco, California.
Her first film "The
Martinez Special - an American Icon", a short documentary about the
birthplace of the martini, and the battle to claim that right between the City
of Martinez and the City of San Francisco was a happy accident. The City of Martinez approached Robin and
asked if she would be willing to take on the project. Robin agreed and pushed forward with
production having documentary and released it to the film festival circuit with
great success. The documentary has won
many awards, was inducted into the U.S. National Film Archives by the U.S.
Library of Congress and was an official selection at several film festivals. It
is currently listed and airing on Comcast CCTV Channel 28, a local TV station
in the Bay Area, California.
Robin’s most recent film as producer, director and writer is The Righteous Path, which has screened
at the San Francisco Global Movie Festival (The FOGsv), among other
venues. In addition, Robin’s credits as
director include Access Music Records co-production of the award-winning music
video, Black Sheep, which was
composed by Kim Di Giacomo, and lyrics by Chloe Jean. Black
Sheep has screened at the Tiburon International Film Festival, the Rahway
International Film Festival, and the New Hope Film Festival where it won Best
Music Video and the People’s Choice Award.
